No Wrong Door and United Way 211 Collaboration

Initiative Description

RI Assistive Technology Access Program (ATAP)  has an established collaboration with the NWD system including the Office of Healthy Aging (OHA) and United Way 211 to reach older individuals that need access to technology and are isolated due to living alone and the COVID-19 Pandemic.  RI ATAP staff participate in monthly calls and work individually with OHA and other partners to ensure resource informaton is accessible for both older individuals and individuals with disabilities and includes technology resources such as Cyber Senior. 

Lessons Learned/Replication

This partnership provides public awareness, information and assistance, training, device demonstrations and telecommunication equipment distribution as needed to seniors, individualt with disabilities, other stakeholders and the community.  RI ATAP is a resource for United Way 211 The Point (https://www.unitedwayri.org/get-help/point/). This successful partnership will continue to offer the above ATAP related supports to the NWD system.
