Community Participation and Integration

Following up on the success of previous AT pop up events prior to Covid and in 2022 focusing on AT Financing and AT for Aging, NCATP partnered with AbleGamers to host 3 AT pop up events in 2023 focusing on Accessible Recreation and Gaming.

May 2022 was Wyoming Assistive Technology Awareness Month, a formal proclamation signed by Wyoming's Governor Mark Gordon and was held virtually through the Google Meets platform. 45 attendees witnessed the virtual signing.

TTAP partnered with the Governor's Committee on People with Disabilties and other stakeholders on a Task Force to develop policy recommendations, information, and training on the critical need of power back up for dedicated medical equipment and assistive techn

We are currently establishing a collaboration with the LTSS Hope Waiver program. We plan to start with smart home equipment and possibly SureHands lift systems.

In 2022, ND Assistive provided input during several meetings with the ND Department of Health and Human Services, Aging Services Department to make changes to the waiver in the area of assistive technology.

The Children's Special Health Services division of Montana's Department of Public Health and Human Services reached out to MonTECH about additional funding for pediatric mobility and positioning equipment.

MDTAP has provided extensive support to the MD Department of Disabilities Emergency Preparedness Program and the MD Department of Human Services to expand and improve the state's Emergency Deployment Assistive Technology Toolkits.

Easterseals Iowa Assistive Technology Program staff participated in Iowa Medicaid Listening sessions and followed up with IME Director for an onsite tour.

Easterseals Iowa Assistive Technology Program established a committee of key stakeholders regarding AAC.

CIDE has worked with the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management on the inclusion of assistive technology in the planning, response, and recovery stages of an emergency.
