Community Participation and Integration

To reduce social isolation and loneliness, the Oregon AT Program continued their partnership with the State Unit on Aging and ADRC offices throughout Oregon, providing technology and related services to seniors and individuals with disabilities.

We collaborate with the Nisonger Center at Ohio State to put on a statewide training called TechSummit. The presentations included smart homes, off the shelf technology, new and developing technologies, as well as innovative ways technology was accessed in other states.

The AT Resource Center has an established and on-going partnership with the United Way.

We partnered with NJAWW (NJ Advocates for Aging well)  Developed and implemented a webinar series that covered a variety of AT topics   The first 15-20 minutes were an overview of the AT covered.

We established a new partnership with Future In Sight, which is a nonprofit that provides vision rehabilitation services for NH people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired.

In FY 2023, ND Assistive met several times with the director of the North Dakota Alzheimer’s Association to see how our programs could work together to improve the lives of individuals with dementia as well as their caregivers.

ND Assistive collaborated with the Assistant Director of North Dakota Aging Services to develop a strategy for providing assistive technology that promotes independence and safety to the numerous North Dakota adults benefiting from the Vulnerable Adult Protective Services (VAPS) program under her

During this reporting period, North Dakota Assistive worked with the ND Department of Health and Human Services, Aging Services Section to enhance the Assistive Safety Device Distribution Services (ASDDS) program.

NCATP continued to receive the remaining funds under the Cares Act as part of an MOU with the Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS). The initial funding in 2020 under the ADRC grant allowing NCATP to identify needs within the state and across the senior   population.
